About Casey
Casey studied theatre and acting in San Francisco at the American Conservatory Theatre, and at Herbert Berghof’s HB Studio in New York. After attending the Professional Filmmaking Program at New York University, she joined NBC and worked with NBC News for many years, covering major news events in the US and world-wide as a member of the NBC production team. Some of those included:
- Presidential campaigns 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996
- Presidential inaugurations 1985, 1989, 1993
- Democratic and Republican conventions 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996
- Geneva Summit 1985
In 1989, Casey went freelance. She continued to work with NBC, and also worked with ABC, CBS, ESPN, MSG Network, BBC, and independent producers. Some of those projects included:
- Gulf War I in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 1991
- Stanley Cup Hockey Finals, 1994
- NBA Live 1991-1999
- NFL on NBC 1991-1997
In 2000, Casey joined SkyWire Communications, a Richmond, Virginia based satellite uplink company that provides location broadcasting services for network, corporate and government clients. She produced satellite media tours, and handled operational logistics and new business development for the company. She also began writing articles and giving presentations on a variety of topics—from crisis management media relations to living on a sailboat.
In 1995, Casey attended the American Comedy Institute in New York. She performed at Caroline’s, the Gotham Comedy Club, the New York Comedy Club, and Catch A Rising Star, developing comedy writing and performance skills that she now shares with her clients. In 2005, Casey started Mighty Casey Media to help organizations develop their “media bench”—the public face of their message. Using her media background, her performance training and her experience in giving powerful presentations, Casey works with individuals and organization teams to help prepare and hone powerful and effective messages.
